In April 2012, the Open Joint-Stock Company Scientific Research Institute of Blade Machines was established (OJSC “SRI BM”, and JSC “SRI BM” since 2015). The founders of the institute were: Russian Engineering Academy, Closed Joint-Stock Company Scientific Production Association "TEN" and Limited Liability Company "Plant Unit".

Today, SRI BM, which recently celebrated its fifth anniversary, is a successfully developing innovative enterprise with achievements in the main areas of its activity - science, engineering, and research.
The team of the enterprise, which is based on young graduates of the Department of Oil and Gas Equipment and Transportation of the Voronezh State Technical University, is full of energy for the successful implementation of tasks on an integrated approach to the creation of pumping, turbine equipment and energy systems, including the provision of relevant specialized services in the field of engineering and research.

An important area of work for the institute is international cooperation. Despite Western policies leading to sanctions and restrictions on Russia, the company is trying to find and use opportunities to develop its scientific, technical and export potential through the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign partners from near and far abroad.

Together with representatives of a German company HELLING, a European leader in the diagnosis of complex technical products and systems, on July 5, 2016 we established a joint venture Center for Non-Destructive Testing LLC, and in January 2017 diagnostic equipment was already received from Germany (more than 20 items) , which is currently actively used by employees of the joint venture located in Voronezh.

With the direct participation of SRI BM JSC it is planned to create joint ventures with a Czech company “SIGMA” within the period from 2017 to 2018, for organizing serial production of special pumps for the oil and mining and metallurgical industries of the Russian economy and the British company AESSEAL in order to localize the production of mechanical seals in the Voronezh region.

It is planned to organize the production of pressurized pumps in conjunction with the Belarusian CJSC "Hydrodynamics" at the facilities of enterprises included in the "Voronezh pump-building cluster."

The institute takes a firm civic position. It carries out patronage, constantly assisting to restore the Orthodox church in honor of the Icon of the St Virgin Mother of God "Recovery of the Dead" and the helping with the needs of the parish, which is especially important in times of false democratic and liberal values.
